We are incredibly grateful to share this bit of GOOD NEWS with you today! Our reading data for the summer is in, and we could not be more proud of the collaborative effort our students, StreetLeaders, Interns, and teachers gave towards such an incredible result...
OUR URBANPROMISE STUDENTS ACROSS ALL THREE SITES GREW AN AVERAGE OF 4.4 MONTHS IN THEIR READING ABILITIES THIS SUMMER!
One of the primary goals of hosting UrbanPromise's in-person camps this summer was to support our students' learning as strongly as possible to:
Counteract the anticipated "COVID Slide" learning loss, and
Put them in the best possible position for whatever sort of academic year may lie ahead.
The decision to gather in person and focus so heavily on literacy proved to be a fruitful one! We could not be more grateful, especially now that we know our students are facing yet another disruptive academic season this fall.
The months ahead will undoubtably hold new challenges and surprises, but we feel confident that, together, we can keep moving forward in ways that bring hope, freedom, and joy.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING TO MAKE URBANPROMISE CHARLOTTE SUMMER CAMP 2020 POSSIBLE!
